Master Class #103: Putting the "Social" In Social Media

Social media is an incredibly powerful tool in today's PR landscape, but simply posting regularly is not enough. Here's a few ways you can leverage your social media presence to connect with your audience in meaningful ways.
 
First, whenever you can, post original pictures or videos from within your organization. Anyone can post generic content, so stand out from the crowd by delivering the content only you can produce. 
 
Next, respond to comments. While you don't have to respond to every single comment on your post, interacting with people on social media, whether from your brand account or an executive's personal account, humanzies your organization, and people connect with people more than anything else.
 
Finally, social media is supposed to be a fun place, so lean into it. Know your boundaries, and never post anything which can be deemed inappropriate, but it's okay to have some fun and play on some current trends.
