Master Class #34: Time to Get Personal

Businesses are using the latest technologies to act like they have a personal relationship with each and every customer.

Yeah, a little creepy. But it works amazingly.

Let's talk Netflix. The former DVD company uses personalized product recommendations to populate the homepages of its users with movies and TV shows that they will likely love. This freaky info is derived from customers' viewing history, ratings, and searches to create personalized recommendations.  (Why does Netflix keep asking if I want to watch Porkys?)

Anyway, through this downright impressive technology, Netflix shows its users a variety of new content that they are likely to enjoy, even if they haven't heard of it before.

The success is downright crazy.

Netflix says these personal recommendations account for more than 75% of the content that users watch on the platform. This shows that personalized product recommendations are a powerful marketing tool that can help businesses to reach their customers with the products and services that they are most likely to be interested in.

So, when you consider your marketing strategy for 2024, Think Personalize. (After you Think Jaffe)
