OUR TAKE ON THE NEWS IN NEW JERSEY

SOUTH JERSEY - Expect the Ben Franklin Bridge to be filled with Eagles fans Thursday morning, as South Jersey streams in for the 11 a.m. start of the victory parade. The well-earned celebration begins at the Eagles training facility in South Philly and heads north to the Art Museum. With such an early start of the official festivities, Eagles fans likely only have five or six hours to pre-drink.

OUR TAKE ON THE NEWS IN NEW JERSEY

TRENTON - Perhaps state lawmakers have officially run out of ideas for new laws. Assemblyman John Burzichelli is now suggesting a law that would allow under-aged college students to drink beer and wine - as long as they don't swallow. (Huh?) Under the bill, students ages 18-20 would be exempt from the state's ban on possessing alcohol if it is "for educational purposes during the instruction of a required course for an enology (the study of wines) or brewing training program offered at an institution of higher education," Politico reports. OUR TAKE ON THE NEWS IN NEW JERSEY

FRANKLIN - Call it an image problem, but residents in one of four towns in New Jersey called "Franklin Township" think its beyond time to consider a name change. That way, the town can still honor its namesake, Benjamin Franklin, but no longer compete for attention against the three other Franklin Townships, the one Franklin Borough and Franklin Lakes. Really, what the heck were our forefathers thinking?

OUR TAKE ON THE NEWS IN NEW JERSEY

ATLANTIC CITY - Politicians generate plenty of wind, and that fits well at the moment, as Gov. Phil Murphy has dashed off another executive order, calling for 3,500 megawatts of offshore wind generation by 2030, enough to power 1.5 million homes in the state. This is ambitious stuff, generating enthusiastic support from New Jersey Audubon and other conservationists. Wind power is critical to fighting climate change and accomplishing the governor's lofty goal of the state running on 100 percent clean energy by 2050. Looking forward to reading all about it, from the retirement village in Florida.
